First Appointment Procedure

The doctor will talk with you about the problems you have had in the past and what your specific fears are. After the doctor has reviewed your medical history with you and addressed any concerns you wish to discuss, he will do a visual exam of your teeth.

After the completion of that examination he will order the necessary x-rays to diagnose and recommend a treatment plan. Normally, we ask for a few days to give the doctor time to read the x-rays, and recommend treatment. However, we have a significant number of patients who travel to see us. We make every effort to schedule appointments for the initial visit in the morning and have those patients from out of town return in the afternoon for the consultation visit. We want to avoid, if possible, having you travel more than necessary.

We have found that many of our patients find it helpful at this second visit to bring a family member or friend who helps them feel secure. At this time we will discuss any insurance benefits, talk about finances, and present the options for your choice of treatment. The Doctor will consult with the patient to answer any questions.
