Dr. Chauncy F. Nelson, DDS, MS
Dr. Chauncy Nelson is a graduate of Dillard University and Louisiana
State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. After
dental school, Dr. Nelson completed a general practice residency at
Charity Hospital in New Orleans and a prosthetics residency at the
Veteran's Administration Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.
Prior to becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Nelson taught on the faculties of
the dental schools at the University of Alabama and the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1998, Dr. Nelson received his master's
degree and certificate in orthodontics from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. His areas of research concentration were tooth
bleaching and patient satisfaction with orthodontic care.
Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Dental Association, American
Association of Orthodontists, and the Southern Association of
Orthodontists, as well as Rotary International. In his free time, he
enjoys tennis, golf, reading and cooking. Dr. Nelson is married to
DeAnne and they have four children, Jeremy, Eli, Ana and Michaela.
