Meet Our Team
Our friendly, dedicated, and energetic team is committed to working with you and your family to create a positive experience every time you visit our practice.
We welcome you with warm smiles to our practice!
As our office manager, I do a little bit of everything to make sure the office runs smoothly. When it comes to our patients, I conduct treatment and sedation consults, insurance management, and handle billing. I love to watch the transformation of a fearful patient into a relaxed patient—someone no longer afraid to come into the office. Everyone on the team has the same goal: making patients healthy and happy with their smile.
I am a proud mother of 17-year-old twins who are my world. Also, we have a Newfoundland that plays a huge part of our family. Born and raised here, salt water runs through my veins. My hobbies include inshore/offshore fishing, ECU football, running and fitness, traveling, golf, beach volleyball, surfing, snowboarding, and spending sunny days at shack with family and friends.
I'm here to greet each patient with a smile and the caring attitude that Coastal Dentistry is known for. The most rewarding part of my job is helping patients understand and feel comfortable with their treatment. I am married to the love of my life and together we followed, "the tug of the sea" all the way from Tennessee. We really love the outdoor life here and have found beach people to be some of the best friends we've ever known! We are truly blessed!
My favorite part of dentistry is welcoming children and ensuring that their visits are positive and fun. I have had a soft spot for kids since I joined the field in 1990 and kept it when hired by Coastal Dentistry 1999. My hope is to inspire our patients by providing high quality patient care. I do general dental cleanings, periodontal therapies, and give new patients their first dental exams. I live with my husband. We keep quite busy by raising numerous animals, including chickens, goats, geese, dogs, and cats.
I have been working at Coastal Dentistry since 1994, and I still love making connections with my patients as I help them achieve healthy, beautiful smiles each day. From educating patients on how to improve their oral care to promoting high standards at the office, I am passionate about my work. I truly want the best for our patients. I am happily married with two sons. I enjoy spending time with my family, and our favorite family spot is “the Cape.”
Dental Assistant II
Since joining the team in 2003, my goal has been to help patients overcome their fears and anxieties of dentistry. I want them to enjoy their experiences at our office. I love making people smile and am very understanding and compassionate of their different situations. I assist Dr. Schweitzer, do sterilizations, and schedule appointments. I am the proud mother of two children. I feel God has blessed me with my wonderful family.
Dental Assistant II
I joined the team in 2002 after entering the field of dentistry in 1989. I love working one-on-one with patients. I do not shy away from hard work and am completely dedicated to providing the highest quality of treatments. It is equally important to me that each patient has a comfortable and smooth experience. I work chairside during treatments and do lab work. I enjoy spending my free time with my pets, horseback riding, and making jewelry.
Dental Assistant II
I proudly joined Coastal Dentistry in 1995 after working in the field since 1984. My favorite part of the work is the variety of people and cases that we treat. I am also especially fond of how life-changing our work can be. A beautiful smile is both a physical makeover and huge boost to self-confidence. I can usually be found assisting Dr. Smith, but I also alternate between Drs. Schweitzer and Bradley when needed. I am also in charge of ordering supplies, office repairs and maintenance, and record keeping that includes OSHA logs. I have been living in Carteret County for over 29 years, and I love it.
Since 2005, I have worked as an accountant for Coastal Dentistry making sure all the bills, including staff, get paid and insuring the budgets and financial statements are sound. I don't get near the interaction with patients that I would like, but I do enjoy fun relationships with our vendors. The staff here is really fantastic and I have made some very dear friends. When I came here I was the ultimate, extreme dental phobic, but working with Dr. Schweitzer and his staff, I no longer fear "being in the chair," which is a major accomplishment. My life outside work is my family. I have 4 wonderful children, who have picked outstanding mates, and 7 fantastic grandchildren who are all truly the joy of my life.
